Information we may collect

  • Your name, email address, telephone number and contact preferences.
  • The property address, postcode, property type and details of the roofing issue or service required.
  • Photographs, videos, reports, plans or other files you choose to send us.
  • Quotation, booking, inspection, job, guarantee, membership and customer-service records.
  • Order, billing and payment-status information. Card details are processed by the payment provider and are not provided to us in full.
  • Messages and correspondence sent through our forms, email, telephone, WhatsApp or other channels.
  • Technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, pages visited and cookie choices.
  • Review or testimonial information where you submit it or give us permission to use it.

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you contact us, upload photographs, request a quotation, arrange an appointment, purchase a guide or report, subscribe to RoofCare or instruct us to carry out work. We may also receive information from a person acting for you, a referral partner, an estate or property professional, a payment or booking provider, or a publicly available business source where it is appropriate and lawful.

Why we use your information

  • To respond to enquiries and prepare quotations: because you have asked us to take steps before entering into a contract.
  • To deliver inspections, reports, roofing work, digital products and memberships: because processing is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To manage payments, invoices, tax, guarantees, complaints and legal records: to meet contractual and legal obligations.
  • To operate, secure and improve the website and our service: for our legitimate interests in running a safe, effective business, provided those interests do not override your rights.
  • To send optional marketing: only where we have consent or another lawful basis that applies. You can opt out at any time.
  • To use non-essential cookies or advertising technology: where required, we ask for your consent through the cookie controls.

If information is needed to provide a quotation, inspection, report, booking or contracted service and you do not provide it, we may be unable to proceed.

Property photographs and uploaded files

Photographs can contain personal information, people, vehicle registrations or embedded location data. Please send only what is relevant to the roofing enquiry. We use customer-supplied files to assess the request, plan or document the service, prepare a report, maintain appropriate records and deal with questions or disputes. We will not use a customer’s property photographs for public marketing without permission or another lawful basis.

Payments, bookings and communications

Online payments may be processed through Stripe and Easy Digital Downloads. Booking links may use Google services. If you contact us through WhatsApp, Meta processes information under its own privacy terms. Email and form messages may pass through our website hosting, security, anti-spam and email-delivery providers. These organisations act as independent controllers or processors depending on the service they provide.

Who we may share information with

We share personal information only where reasonably necessary. Recipients may include:

  • Website hosting, maintenance, security, email, form, analytics and cookie-management providers.
  • Stripe or another payment provider, and booking or calendar providers.
  • Employees, subcontractors or specialist professionals who need information to assess or complete the work.
  • Insurers, accountants, legal advisers, regulators, courts or public authorities where required.
  • A buyer or adviser if the business or relevant assets are reorganised or sold, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Essential cookies help the website, security and checkout function. With your choice where required, we may also use analytics or advertising services provided by organisations such as Google or Microsoft to understand visits and measure enquiries. You can review or change your choices through the site’s cookie settings. See our Cookie Policy for more information.

International processing

Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, the relevant provider’s terms and privacy information explain the locations and safeguards used. We take reasonable steps to use providers and transfer arrangements that comply with applicable UK data-protection law.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected. The period depends on whether the information relates to an enquiry, quotation, contract, payment, inspection report, guarantee, membership, complaint or legal requirement. Enquiries that do not proceed are reviewed and removed when they are no longer needed. Customer, financial, job, report and guarantee records may need to be retained for longer to meet tax, contractual, insurance or legal requirements. Cookie and analytics retention depends on the choices and service described in our Cookie Policy.

Keeping information secure

We use reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information. No website, email or messaging service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not send unnecessary sensitive information.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal information, or to object to how it is used. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful use. We do not make customer decisions using solely automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

To exercise a right, contact us using the details above. We may need to confirm your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.

Children

Our services are intended for property owners, buyers, landlords and trade or property professionals. They are not directed at children.
